Edit: I must have forgotten to put one of the frames on my flash drive yesterday before I left for work. Woops. I put the missing one in, working on fixing the other problems.
I finally finished drawing all of the frames from the Solid Ivory walk last night.
I think the head bobbing down on frame 2 doesn't look right. There's also some shifting of the hand size. Here's John's post containing the footage I'm studying. The original does look stompy and fast, but I can't help but feel like I missed something.
(this last frame is just frame 1 repeated)

you are missing a drawing in each step
ReplyDeletethere should be 14 drawings total, 7 per step
plus - you did drawing 1 twice - 2 different versions
the first and last frame in your individual frames in your post should be the same drawing
if you fix those things it will work a little better
There are 18 frames in the original run cycle. In yours there are 12.
ReplyDeleteHope that helps!

each drawing is good and solid. i saw the gif before, and it didn't look bad. i need to see the timing on the original, but yours isn't bad.
ReplyDeleteTrevor-- Where do you get 18 from, if you don't mind me asking?
ReplyDeleteTrevor is counting at 30fps, when the cartoon was made at 24fps.
ReplyDeletevery nice study!
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteI think Trevor may have gotten 18 frames from the conversion to video which doubles up some frames.
.... which is why it looks weird. I was explaining to Geneva that the reason it looks odd is because of how many pictures are playing back in the original.
ReplyDeleteOr I was trying to.
